Apart from the slight lift, it is pretty similar to an A3/1 Series. Certainly close enough that 99% of renters would go, “Yup, this is the sort of car I booked.”

I’ve always wanted a job were I got rental cars. It seems really fun getting to drive different cars all the time, even if they’re all “rental” spec.

Sometimes you win like V6 mustang, or Hemi Ram pick up. Sometimes you loose like Hyundai elantra/sonatta. Sometimes it’s just okay, like Jetta TSI, Toyota Camry, Rav4, Jeep Renegade Trail Hawk.

I would be happy as with a CLA usually I am traveling on business and end up with a Hyundai Sonatta, Elantra, or Toyota Rav4.

That sucks. It’s a competent commuter, but that’s not what you were going after.
Did you request the autobox or do you prefer one? If not, I’d complain and ask for that Abarth 124.

He rented it to go canyon carving in the Alps. A slushbox is (IMHO) a big no-no, as is a wallowing crossover.

No preference for the auto. As there were loads of delays there were only the reserved cars available, which probably limited what I could get. Didn’t feel like complaint too much when there was a massive queue behind waiting...
